About · the firm

Twenty-plus years of other people’s worst days.

Data recovery is a strange trade: every customer arrives having already had the bad day. Since 2002 we’ve been the calm end of that phone call — a specialist bench, our own engineers, and a way of working built on the idea that the worst moment to be vague with someone is when their files are on the line.

// who we are

A recovery firm, not a computer shop.

Easy Data Recovery Ltd was founded in 2002 and does one thing: gets data back from failed and damaged storage. No PC repairs subsidising the bench, no sales targets for hardware, no franchise scripts. The engineers specialise — some in mechanical drive work, some in RAID and server logic, some in chip-level flash recovery — and Glasgow’s jobs go to whichever specialism the fault demands.

The company is UK-registered (NI625698) and ICO-registered for data protection (ZC173784) — the boring paperwork that matters enormously when the media on the bench is somebody’s payroll, casework or family history.

// how we work

Four habits that don’t bend.

Everything in-house. Your device is worked by our own engineers, start to finish — never outsourced, never “escalated” to a partner lab, and your data never leaves the UK. Image first. Every device gets one gentle, hardware-level read; all repairs happen on the copy, so nothing can be lost twice. Fixed figures. The price goes in writing before the work, from the published bands. Straight answers. If the odds are poor, or the honest fix is cheaper than us, you’ll hear it at diagnosis — not after an invoice.

Two decades in, those four habits are the entire business model. Everything else — the tooling, the donor library, the paperwork — exists to serve them.

// who we’ve helped

From league clubs to the laptop in the kitchen.

Down the years the bench has recovered for football clubs and universities, councils and schools, engineering firms, photographers, solicitors — and, in exactly the same queue, thousands of households whose entire digital life sat on one tired external drive. The council’s Exchange server and the kitchen laptop get the same method, the same bands, and the same engineer-to-customer phone manner: plain English, no ticket numbers.

// glasgow

The Glasgow drop-off, the same bench.

For Glasgow and the west, the front door is Tay House, 300 Bath Street at Charing Cross — walk-in drop-offs Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm, two minutes off the M8. Devices are logged on arrival with a documented chain of custody and worked by our own engineers on the recovery bench; the rest of Scotland reaches the same queue by insured, tracked post. One firm, one standard, however your drive arrives.

The clearest introduction we can offer is the free diagnostic: what failed, what’s recoverable, and the fixed figure — in writing, in plain English. Glasgow data recovery since 2002, minus the drama.
